Former Republican Congressman and current MSNBC pundit Joe Scarborough just hit the nail on the head: the Republican Party of Bush and McCain is sorely out of touch with the American people and is being brutally repudiated.
Pat Buchanan credits the "hope, joy, and enthusiasm" of Obama, but also equates Obama v. McCain '08 with FDR v. Hoover '32, both in terms of a Republican repudiation and an economic crisis. He says we might be looking at "a transformational election" similar to Reagan v. Carter '80, and that we might be "at the cusp of a new liberal era."
Most importantly, Pat says that if Obama wins tonight, that he will enjoy a franchise similar to FDR.
